Michigan defeated Gonzaga 101-61 in the Players Era title game in Las Vegas, with Yaxel Lendeborg earning MVP and accepting a diamond-encrusted ring. Michigan beat San Diego State, Auburn and Gonzaga by a combined 110 points after earlier close wins over TCU and Wake Forest. Gonzaga entered the matchup as KenPom's No. 1 after scoring 195 combined points against Alabama and Maryland but trailed 33-14 ten minutes in and 53-29 at halftime. The win marked the first time in the AP poll era a team beat back-to-back opponents by 30-plus points and was Gonzaga's largest loss since 1990.
