Briefly

Racquel Chevremont filed a summons in Manhattan on 8 August seeking at least $10 million, accusing Mickalene Thomas of sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and retaliation. Chevremont and Thomas were partners from 2011 to 2020 and continued professional collaboration afterward, including work as Deux Femmes Noires and Chevremont serving as the subject of several Thomas works now in major collections and auction records. The summons alleges repeated improper pressure to resume a romantic relationship, termination after refusal, and a hostile, abusive workplace. The claims include breach of contract, unjust enrichment, quantum meruit, conversion, sexual harassment and retaliation, and allege improper payment practices despite a 2021 written agreement.
