Mangione, 27, is awaiting trial on death penalty murder charges alleging he gunned down UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan in 2024. Prosecutors identified the alleged impersonator as Mark Anderson, 36, of Mankato, Minnesota. Anderson allegedly presented a Minnesota driver’s license and paperwork and told guards he had weapons. Guards arrested and searched Anderson and found a barbecue fork and a round pizza-cutter blade in his backpack. Anderson was reportedly working at a pizzeria after arriving in New York, and no legal representative information was immediately available.
