Washington, D.C., increased its minimum wage to $17.95, Oregon went from $14.70 to $15.05, and Alaska, from $11.91 to $13.
In Maryland's Montgomery County, employers now face varying minimum wage rates depending on the size of the company, with a maximum of $17.65 for larger employers.
