"Francine is one of us,"
"She's just amazing. What she means here to the store and the employees, you really can't imagine the outpouring that the employees and also the customers give her daily."
"And then, of course, when she got down to the distribution center, she shot off the truck," Sida said. "That's when we found out where she was and she was missing."
Francine, a calico cat, returned to the Richmond, Virginia Lowe's after disappearing in September. Surveillance footage showed Francine moving through the appliance section into the receiving department and darting into a truck that later traveled about 85 miles to the Garysburg distribution center. An overnight manager closed the truck door before departure. Employees discovered Francine at the distribution center, where staff posted photos and set humane traps amid numerous monitoring cameras. Two Richmond employees drove 90 minutes to retrieve Francine. She resumed spending time at the customer service desk and the seasonal department, interacting with customers and receiving affection.
