Citing a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson, The Boston Globereported that K9 units, the State Police Air Wing, and the Special Emergency Response Team have continued to search for 35-year-old Pennington, who has been missing since he allegedly shot and killed his wife the morning of Oct. 22, 2023."

Investigators found Pennington's car near Camp Collier the day after the murder. The couple's four children went to a neighbor for help, where officers later discovered Breanne dead. Court documents note Breanne kept a firearm, investigators recovered three spent shell casings but no gun, and cellphone evidence included a note instructing violent actions. Aaron Pennington was charged days after the death and later featured on America's Most Wanted.
