Rangers recall Connor Mackey; Carson Soucy out for personal reasons - Blue Seat Blogs
"Missed in all the fireworks yesterday was the Rangers recalling defenseman Connor Mackey from the Hartford Wolf Pack. Word is Carson Soucy is out for personal reasons and did not travel to Philadelphia for today's matinee against the Flyers. If that's the case, then Mackey or Urho Vaakanainen will slide right into Soucy's spot in the lineup. Soucy is expected to make the trip to California next week."
"It's worth noting that Soucy will likely be traded as part of this retool Chris Drury has made public. However this does not seem like a roster maintenance decision. If so, they would have come out and said it, like they did last year when they held players out of the lineup for those reasons. Also, it looks like Artemi Panarin will be the first domino that falls. The true fireworks will be when he's held out of the lineup for roster reasons."
Connor Mackey was recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack to the Rangers. Carson Soucy missed the Philadelphia game for personal reasons and did not travel. Mackey or Urho Vaakanainen is expected to take Soucy's spot in the lineup. Soucy is expected to rejoin the team in California next week. Soucy is also likely to be traded as part of Chris Drury's retool. The absence does not appear to be a roster-maintenance hold, since those situations were publicly disclosed last year. Artemi Panarin is anticipated to be the first significant roster move, with larger reactions when he is held out for roster reasons.
