A New Hampshire State Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop of a vehicle for allegedly speeding at up to 120 mph near exit 12 around 12:51 a.m., according to a release. When the driver failed to stop, the trooper pursued the blue 2020 Honda Civic, police said."
"The driver of the Honda reportedly then lost control while trying to leave the highway via the Exit 18 off-ramp. He crossed the northbound on-ramp, went down an embankment, and struck a tree, police said. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Benjamin Tapia Gately, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene after emergency personnel performed life-saving measures, police said."
