Army Sergeant Benjamin N Pennington, a 26-year-old from Glendale, Kentucky, has been identified as the seventh US service member killed in the war with Iran. Pennington died from injuries sustained during an Iranian strike on Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia on March 1. He was assigned to the First Space Battalion, First Space Brigade at Fort Carson, Colorado, part of the Army Space and Missile Defense Command. Pennington enlisted in 2017 as a unit supply specialist and received multiple commendations including the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. Military leadership praised him as a dedicated, experienced noncommissioned officer who demonstrated strength, professionalism, and duty.
