Dioblis Williams, 25, was arrested in Framingham around 8:30 a.m. by a Framingham Police officer on a U.S. Marshals Service homicide warrant charging him with the 2020 beating death of a girlfriend's 2-year-old. The officer, en route to a briefing to serve the warrant, spotted two individuals and identified Williams by a wig worn as an apparent disguise. Williams was taken into custody on a Massachusetts Straight Warrant and an Ohio murder warrant. The toddler's body was found in a bathtub in Columbus, Ohio. Williams was charged as a fugitive and will be arraigned in Massachusetts pending extradition to Ohio. Officials described the arrest as a step toward justice for the child.
Officers observed the individual and came to the determination that the individual wearing the wig was indeed the male that the USMS and VFAS were intending to arrest,
Today's arrest is a reminder that you can run, but you can't hide. Mr. Williams thought that he could evade arrest and accountability by hiding in Massachusetts," said Acting U.S. Marshal Kevin W. Neal. " I hope that today's arrest brings us one step closer to justice for a young child whose life ended tragically.
