They told police their roommate was poisoning them. Here's what the video showed
"The biggest symptoms we had were stomach problems. It's like eating really spicy food and you get intense burning. Yates was hospitalized multiple times and underwent CAT scans and MRIs, her husband said. Hopper himself recently sought emergency care, thinking he was having a heart attack."
"When they saw what was on the video, they were shocked. A man in a hoodie and mask, who authorities said was Bradbury, walks into a kitchen with an aerosol can, allegedly a poison for bugs, and sprays everything in sight."
"We constantly had to replace our clothes and food because they were damaged. Paying all of the medical bills strained our finances as well. The only reason the couple didn't move out sooner was because of the financial strain of the alleged poisoning."
A 42-year-old Santa Clarita resident was taken into custody on suspicion of willfully poisoning food and water with intent to cause injury. His roommates, Davidson Hopper and Billy Yates, experienced severe gastrointestinal symptoms and required hospitalization after moving into the shared Cedar Ridge Court residence. The couple also discovered their clothes had been cut up. After the landlord installed security cameras in late 2025, footage revealed a masked individual allegedly spraying bug poison throughout the kitchen. The roommates had never had a conversation with Bradbury and remained in the residence due to financial strain from medical bills and property damage. Deputies arrested Bradbury after he temporarily barricaded himself in the apartment.
