Trump administration halts Harvard's ability to enroll international students
Briefly

The Trump administration has revoked Harvard University's certification for enrolling international students, effective immediately. This decision impacts both new and existing international students, who must transfer to maintain their legal status. The revocation stems from a records request associated with a homeland security investigation, claiming noncompliance with reporting requirements. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the actions are to underscore the administration's seriousness in enforcing laws against perceived anti-Americanism and antisemitism, alleging that Harvard has fostered violence and ties with the Chinese Communist party.
This action should not surprise you and is the unfortunate result of Harvard's failure to comply with simple reporting requirements, said Noem.
The decertification means Harvard is prohibited from having any aliens on F- or J-nonimmigrant status for the 2025-2026 academic school year.
This decision follows a records request as part of a homeland security investigation that threatens university's international student admissions.
Noem justified the decision citing Harvard's fostering of violence, antisemitism, and its alleged coordination with the Chinese Communist party.
