Summer Britcher won the women's singles luge race in Sigulda, Latvia, claiming her second World Cup victory of the season and moving to the top of the World Cup standings. She rallied in the second heat to overtake Lisa Schulte of Austria and Julia Taubitz of Germany, finishing with a combined time of 1:23.840. The win was her seventh career singles victory, extending USA Luge's all-time record for sliders. Britcher earned two golds and a bronze in three singles races this season.
