Woman killed, husband injured by plow in MBTA parking lot
"This is an unimaginable, horrific incident,"
"On behalf of the Transit Police and the entire MBTA organization we express our most sincere condolences to the victim's family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them."
The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. Sunday in the Norwood Central commuter rail station parking lot. A Ford F350 snowplow truck operated by a private company contracted by the MBTA reversed and struck a married couple walking through the lot. The 51-year-old woman died from her injuries and was pronounced dead. Her 47-year-old husband sustained nonlife-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The 33-year-old plow operator remained at the scene and cooperated with Transit Police detectives. Transit Police continue to investigate and are coordinating with the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office. Condolences were offered to the victim's family and friends.
