"At about 7:10 p.m., first responders received calls about a crash at 400 Broadway. When they arrived, they found a white Chevy van and a blue Toyota RAV4 that had collided head-on and sustained serious damage, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn's office. The van was "located centered in the northbound lane in the correct direction of travel," officials said. The Toyota "appeared to have crashed into the white van.""
"The Toyota was being driven by a 25-year-old woman with her two children: a 5-year-old girl and another that was almost 2. The younger girl was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly afterward, officials said. The 5-year-old was brought to an out-of-state trauma center and was in stable condition as of Sunday, according to Quinn's office. The woman was brought to a Rhode Island hospital, and she was also in stable condition."
"The Chevy was occupied by four men. They remained on the scene and did not show any injuries, Quinn's office said. Officials did not release the names of any of the people involved, including the young girl who died. State Police and Taunton police are involved in an ongoing investigation."
