YouTube video helps feds build felony gun case in Sacramento
"The large gathering turned out to be for a video entitled "The Apes & Gators took us to the MOST DANGEROUS hood in Sacramento," by Star Quality Entertainment, a popular YouTube channel with more than 100,000 subscribers. In the 44-minute video various participants, including a man identified by prosecutors as Stratton, are seen flashing weapons and speaking in general terms about the surrounding area as fireworks go off in the background."
"Ky Stratton, 26, was charged earlier this month with being a felon in possession of a firearm, following his arrest on the night of July 4 in Sacramento, court records show. The criminal complaint says police pulled Stratton over and found a pistol in his car after receiving a complaint that there were more than 100 people near Northfield Drive and Northview Drive, some openly carrying firearms."
A July 4 gathering for a Star Quality Entertainment YouTube video brought more than 100 people to a Sacramento neighborhood, with some openly carrying firearms. Police responded to a complaint and pulled over Ky Stratton, 26, and found a pistol in his car. Prosecutors say Stratton appears in the 44-minute video flashing a weapon and wearing the same outfit. Officers also seized roughly 500 opiate-based painkiller pills and $7,894 in cash. Stratton was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, released after a $150,000 property bond, and is due in court Oct. 2. The neighborhood has experienced numerous shootings, robberies, assaults, and homicides since 2024.
