In response to ongoing tensions with Russia, approximately 71 US Senators are preparing to vote on stringent sanctions against the country and imposing significant tariffs on nations supporting Vladimir Putin's war efforts. Senator Lindsey Graham emphasized that the proposed legislation is designed to inflict considerable damage on Russia while supporting President Trump's strategy. With tariffs potentially reaching 500% on imports from countries buying Russian oil and gas, Graham warned that attempts to manipulate negotiations would be a detrimental move for Putin.
Around 71 US Senators are set to vote on "bone crushing" sanctions on Russia and will prepare enormous tariffs on countries who are supporting Vladimir Putin's war.
Graham said, "The goal is to help the president. I think Trump's the best person to achieve that goal, but these sanctions represent the Senate's view that we see the primary bad guy as being Russia."
