Trump's net approval rating on jobs fell from +9 in January 2025 to -13 overall. Among independents, net approval plunged from +7 to -30, a 37-point drop. Public perception of the job market shifted markedly over the year: in February 2025 respondents were evenly split (42% good, 42% bad), later shifting to 52% rating the market as bad and only 33% rating it as good. That represents a 19-point margin favoring negative views. The deterioration in job-market perceptions corresponds with the steep decline in approval for Trump on jobs and employment.
