Scott Jennings criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for remarks that suggested concern about President Donald Trump's health and used profanity to express anger. Panelists discussed social media chatter and conspiracy theories after a light presidential schedule, followed by Trump being seen golfing. Washington Post reporter Sabrina Rodriguez framed the president's brief absence from public view as news and compared scrutiny to that aimed at Joe Biden. Jennings said Biden critics recorded stamina issues because the media did not. Kasie Hunt questioned why Jennings did not ask Trump about his health during an earlier interview; Jennings said Trump sounded alive on the phone.
During a panel discussion on Tuesday's The Arena with anchor Kasie Hunt, social media chatter and conspiracy theories around Trump's health last week were discussed. Due to a light schedule for a few days, critics ran rampant with theories about the president's health only for him to be seen golfing over the weekend. Sabrina Rodriguez, national reporter for The Washington Post, argued that Trump not being front and center for even a couple days is news.
She added that the current president is facing similar scrutiny as former President Joe Biden, whose light schedule and public gaffes were frequently shared by critics. Jennings pushed back on this point, arguing Biden critics had to record and take note of stamina issues because the media was not. Hold on a second. You had an opportunity to ask the president today about this, and you did not. Why? Hunt asked, referring to Jennings interviewing Trump earlier that day on his radio show.
Well, because when he got on the phone and sounded very much alive, I thought it would sound kind of stupid, frankly, to ask an alive person if they were dead, Jennings said. The conservative pundit then singled out Walz for comments he made about Trump's health. I'll tell you who is a complete piece of shit, I'm going to tell you right now, Tim Walz, Jennings said. There have been a lot of swear words today, Hunt noted.
