Florida Plans To End All State Vaccine Mandates, Including For Schools
"Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery,"
"Who am I as a government or anyone else, or who am I as a man standing here now to tell you what to do with your body?"
"Medical freedom is something we've got to be very conscientious about protecting,"
Florida plans to end all state vaccine mandates, including requirements for students to attend school, announced by Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo. State leaders frame vaccination as a matter of personal choice and invoke "medical freedom." Ladapo said his agency will roll back mandates for roughly half a dozen vaccines under its authority but will need the Republican-controlled legislature for broader changes and did not specify which mandates would be removed. Public health experts warn that removing mandates could trigger severe outbreaks among children, tourists, and immunocompromised people amid falling kindergarten vaccination rates and a growing measles resurgence.
