President Trump granted a commutation for former Congressman George Santos, who had served about three months of a seven-plus year sentence after pleading guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. Santos was ordered to pay nearly $374,000 in restitution to victims, including campaign contributors whose financial information he stole and whose donations were deposited into his personal bank accounts. Santos told CNN that he would repay the restitution only if required by law. Santos told Fox & Friends Weekend that he has no restitution or probation and called the restitution requirement "really insane." The commutation document removes fines, restitution, probation, supervised release, and other conditions.
