Sixty-two Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire in Gaza since Saturday morning, including 38 individuals seeking aid at sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Reports indicate that 105 Palestinians were killed seeking food earlier in the week. The United Nations Human Rights Office states that at least 1,373 Palestinians have died trying to access aid, with additional deaths attributed to starvation and malnutrition. Israel has allowed aid airdrops from several countries, but humanitarian organizations argue that these efforts are insufficient and call for unrestricted land access.
As of Friday, at least 1,373 Palestinians have been killed while trying to access aid, according to the human rights office.
The death toll includes 38 Palestinians seeking aid at distribution sites operated by the controversial United States and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Palestinians in the enclave have reported numerous cases of Israeli soldiers and American security contractors deliberately firing on aid seekers in the vicinity of the distribution sites.
Israel has in recent days allowed airdrops of aid into the enclave by countries including Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Spain, Germany and France.
