Karl Rove Torches Terrible' Democrat for Making Blue State Governor's Race a Toss-Up'
"There is a 13-point advantage, registration advantage for Democrats and she is up in the polls by basically four. So there are a lot of people in New Jersey who look at her and say: not authentic, not really up to the job, don't know how she's going to perform, she's not very convincing in what she says and what she's focused on, spends more time trashing him than advocating herself."
"Listen, as you've [Gowdy] just said, a win is a win and I'm hopeful that we will win both in Trenton and in Richmond, and you know, we've seen some early indications that enthusiasm is off the charts when it comes to early votes in both the commonwealth and the state of New Jersey. So those are some indications that are good for Democrats, to Karl's point, that have that registration advantage in New Jersey, but 15 percent of that electorate is independent."
Karl Rove warned that the New Jersey gubernatorial race is tightening because Democrats have a weak candidate in Mikie Sherrill, making the contest competitive against Republican Jack Ciattarelli. He cited a 13-point Democratic registration advantage and Sherrill's roughly four-point lead in polls. Rove described Sherrill as appearing inauthentic, unconvincing, and more focused on attacking Ciattarelli than promoting her own agenda. Ciattarelli previously ran closely four years ago. Kevin Walling expressed optimism about Democratic chances, noted strong early-vote enthusiasm, and observed that 15 percent of New Jersey voters are independent and could determine the outcome.
