"Kyrsten Sinema, the Democrat-turned- Independent former Senator from Arizona and absolute pain in the ass, has a new job. She is now a "senior adviser" at the law and lobbying firm Hogan Lovells, the same esteemed organization that Nestle hired a few years backto represent it in a Supreme Court case over international child slavery. In addition to her presumed corporate clients, Sinema recently told Politico that she's taking on the cause of psychedelic medicine, claiming it's on a pro-bono basis."
"Sinema is advocating for clinical trials of ibogaine-derived from the root of a shrub found in Central Africa-as a mental health treatment with eventual Food and Drug Administration approval. The Drug Enforcement Administration lists ibogaine as a Schedule 1 controlled substance alongside heroin and, dubiously, marijuana. Sinema shared at a conference that she had tried it in Mexico earlier this year."
Kyrsten Sinema accepted a role as a senior adviser at Hogan Lovells while publicly advocating psychedelic medicine research, claiming pro bono work. She promotes clinical trials of ibogaine, derived from a Central African shrub, aiming for eventual FDA approval despite DEA scheduling it as a Schedule I substance. She reported trying ibogaine in Mexico and spoke at an Aspen conference hosted by Americans for Ibogaine, a group co-founded by Rick Perry. She lobbied Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs for $5 million for ibogaine research, contrasted with $50 million approved in Texas. Her ties to a major lobbying firm and luxury travel raise questions about funding and ethics.
