Bus stops and early-shift worker commutes have thinned as parents escort neighborhood children and volunteers blow bright orange whistles to warn of observed ICE vehicles. Approximately 3,000 federal agents have been deployed to Minnesota, outnumbering the Minneapolis police force about five to one. Armed, masked agents have arrested individuals on morning commutes, at grocery stores and outside churches. The Department of Homeland Security described the operation as the agency's largest. The deployment intensified after several fraud investigations and the killing of Renee Good.
