The American ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, proposed that instead of insisting on establishing a Palestinian state in recognized Palestinian territories, Muslim nations should contribute space for this purpose. If Huckabee's statements reflect U.S. policy, it signals a significant departure from the traditional American stance favoring a two-state solution established since the Oslo Accords. Although Huckabee implied that land disputes could complicate the process, the State Department attempted to mitigate his remarks, emphasizing they do not necessarily represent official policy.
Muslim countries have 644 times the amount of land controlled by Israel, so maybe, if there is such a desire for a Palestinian state, someone would host it.
It would be a problem if someone wanted to declare those exact territories a future Palestinian state... the question is: Where should that be?
