A leaked Telegram chat among Young Republican leaders included racist, anti‑Semitic, and violent messages praising Hitler and referencing gas chambers and burning people. At least one participant, Michael Bartels, is identified as a senior adviser in the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of General Counsel and did not push back in the chat or comment when contacted. A televised commentary condemned President Donald Trump for not firing the identified staffer and demanded accountability. Vice President JD Vance publicly downplayed the story and deflected attention to a separate text scandal involving Democrat Jay Jones.
