President Trump indicated Chicago as the next city for National Guard deployment to address crime and illegal immigration. Trump previously sent federalized troops to Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Rep. Nancy Mace welcomed potential deployment and accused Democrats of defending criminals and immigrants. Chicago's mayor signed an executive order barring police from cooperating with federal agents on joint patrols, arrests, or immigration enforcement. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker vowed to oppose military use against states and said he would do everything to stop what he called an invasion. Trump attacked Pritzker on Truth Social.
Mace called Democrats the party of violence. They are defending rapists, they're defending murderers, they're defending child molesters and pedophiles by keeping those who are committing heinous crimes and who are here illegally right here in the United States. I mean, they're fighting for the rights of illegals. They're fighting for the rights of gang members and cartel members. It's out of control, it's insane, and I look forward to watching the videos of soldiers entering Chicago and and getting Chicago safer than it's ever been, because the mayor certainly is not doing it. Neither is the governor.
I hope that President Trump has the resources to send soldiers to Chicago, if that's what it takes, Mace said Sunday.
I've been standing up to Donald Trump, and I'm going to do everything I can to stop him from taking away people's rights and from using the military to invade states.
