Outrage over FEMA employee's 'revolting' comments about Charlie Kirk

The father of two, known for his fierce MAGA views and thrilling debates with college kids across the country, collapsed immediately after being hit by the gunfire and died shortly after. Trump delivered a solemn message to the nation hours later, criticizing the 'demonization' of political opponents during a four-minute video posted to his Truth Social account."

"Gavin Sylvia, a data analyst with FEMA since November 2024, posted on Instagram: 'Half mast for the literal racist homophobe misogynist?? [Be f****ing for real].' The post questioned President Donald Trump's order to have American flags flown at half-staff following Kirk's assassination on Wednesday in Utah. A FEMA spokesperson told the Daily Mail: 'This employee's words are revolting and unconscionable. He was immediately placed on administrative leave. ' ' Celebrating the death of a fellow American is appalling, unacceptable and sickening.'"

Gavin Sylvia, a FEMA data analyst hired in November 2024, posted an Instagram message criticizing the decision to lower flags to half-staff following Charlie Kirk's assassination. The Instagram message used profane language and questioned the order to have American flags flown at half-staff. FEMA placed Sylvia on administrative leave and a spokesperson described the remarks as revolting, unconscionable, appalling, unacceptable and sickening. Sylvia previously shared politically charged social media content, including an image of him and his grandmother pretending to vomit in front of Trump Tower. Members of the public on X have demanded Sylvia's termination, and the timing of the post remains unclear.
