Richmond Mayor Eduardo Martinez reshared LinkedIn posts alleging that the Dec. 14 mass shooting at a Hanukkah event on Australia's Bondi Beach was a "false flag" perpetrated by Israel. The petition states that hateful rhetoric harms targeted communities and civic life. At least 1,000 community members emailed Richmond councilmembers calling for Martinez to resign and for a censure vote. Jewish community leaders and officials urged accountability.
