"I was talking to Diane, your producer, right before the show, and I said, Kissinger got the Nobel Peace Prize and Gandhi didn't.' So I'm not sure how much the Nobel Peace Prize means, but it means a lot to Donald Trump. He added: And look, if that's what's motivating him to put pressure on Netanyahu and say, enough, stop the bombing and to put pressure on Hamas to release the hostages, fine."
"I mean, I really don't care, frankly, whether Trump gets credit, whether we get credit. This has been the most horrific, gut-wrenching war. And I just want it to end, and I want us to start to work towards peace. And so there's some issues, Chris, that are about politics, this one for me is genuinely not, there's been too much suffering and I'm hoping that this works."
Rep. Ro Khanna laughed off the relevancy of the Nobel Peace Prize, noting former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger won while Mohandas Gandhi did not. Khanna said the prize matters to President Donald Trump and that if the prize motivates Trump to pressure Israeli and Hamas leaders to stop bombing and release hostages, that is acceptable. Khanna said he does not care about who receives credit and emphasized the need to end what he called a horrific, gut-wrenching two-year war. Khanna expressed hope the announced deal between Israel and Hamas will bring hostages home and lead toward peace.
