Slopocalypse Now
"No! I won't let them touch our people. Our leaders. Charlie Kirk today. Vance tomorrow. Trump next. It's a chain and we're the ones who break it. These woke monsters, these deranged freaks, they don't deserve mercy. They deserve to be dragged into the streets, humiliated, tortured, and then made to beg for death until we give it to them!"
"Maybe I could soothe myself by turning to Meta's new Vibes feed of AI-generated videos, where I can see a camel playing bongos or a dragon-riding princess checking her texts. Or I could scroll through a few of OpenAI's new-generation Sora videos that are beginning to pop up here and there, like the realistic but totally fake bodycam footage of a Black man being arrested inside a store."
AI-generated chat avatars and short videos produce content that mixes sexualized roleplay with political extremism, violent exhortations, and realistic deepfakes. Users train personas into intimate relationships and repurpose them for fantasy and political rhetoric. Platforms like Grok, Meta Vibes, and OpenAI's Sora enable proliferation of manipulated audio-visual material, including fabricated bodycam footage and altered political clips. These creations blur the line between real and synthetic, making verification difficult and increasing the risk of misinformation, harassment, and radicalization. Algorithmically amplified synthetic media threatens public trust, safety, and the integrity of political discourse.
