President Trump defended Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman when questioned about CIA findings that the prince approved Jamal Khashoggi's killing. Trump called Khashoggi extremely controversial, said many people disliked him, insisted the prince knew nothing, and told reporters not to embarrass their guest. Saudi Arabia denied crown prince involvement. The crown prince said Saudi Arabia improved its system, called the killing painful and a huge mistake, and promised steps to prevent recurrence. Trump dismissed conflict-of-interest questions about his family's business ties while hosting the prince. The two men promoted a deal for hundreds of billions in Saudi investment tied to access to U.S. military and technology assets.
