"We're going to walk down to the Capitol and I'll be there with you. And we fight. We fight like hell."
"They actually have me speaking with words that I never said, and they got caught Let's call [it] fake news."
"The formerly respected and now disgraced BBC defamed President Trump by intentionally, maliciously and deceptively doctoring his speech in a brazen attempt to interfere in the 2024 presidential election."
President Donald Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit in Miami federal court seeking $5 billion for defamation and $5 billion for alleged trade-practices violations. The filing alleges a Panorama documentary spliced separate clips of his January 6 speech to create the impression he urged violence. Trump accused the BBC of putting words in his mouth, suggested possible AI use, and called the segment "fake news." The controversy prompted resignations at the BBC leadership level and an apology from the BBC Chair, who nonetheless said there is no basis for a defamation case and vowed to fight it. The suit follows other media legal actions by Trump.
