President Donald Trump posted a Friday endorsement urging 'America First Patriots' in Texas' 9th State Senate District to vote for Leigh Wambsganss. Wambsganss lost by double digits to Democrat Taylor Rehmet, a local union leader, despite the district's strong pro-Trump margin. At Mar-a-Lago, Trump said he had not heard of the result and described the contest as a local race for which he was not involved. Trump also warned that electing Democrats would lead to open borders and increased crime and asserted historically low national crime rates. Ken Martin noted the Republican loss in a Trump +17 district.
