"60 Minutes/CBS News President Donald Trump sat down with CBS anchor Norah O'Donnell on Friday afternoon for the first interview the president has done with the network since suing CBS last year. The interview, first reported by Semafor, comes a full year after Trump sued CBS due to a selectively edited 60 Minutes interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris. "Since Paramount's controversial merger with media giant Skydance in August a deal that required approval from Trump's Federal Communications Commission new owner David Ellison has made sweeping changes to CBS, many of which are more in line with the president's preferences. In July, the network chose not to renew its contract with Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and a frequent critic of the president."
President Donald Trump sat down with CBS anchor Norah O'Donnell for his first CBS interview since suing the network. Trump sued CBS over a selectively edited 60 Minutes segment with former Vice President Kamala Harris; Paramount settled in July for $16 million. Paramount's merger with Skydance and new owner David Ellison prompted leadership changes at CBS that align more closely with Trump's preferences. CBS did not renew Stephen Colbert's contract, and Trump praised Colbert's firing on Truth Social. Ellison named Bari Weiss editor-in-chief, and Weiss has reached out to conservative media allies. No release date for the interview has been announced.
