Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced she will resign from Congress effective Jan. 5, 2026. She released a lengthy video on X/Twitter in which she likened Donald Trump to a domestic abuser. Trump told ABC by phone that he thought her resignation was great news for the country. He then posted on Truth Social insulting Greene with the nickname 'Marjorie Traitor Brown,' blamed plummeting poll numbers and a relationship with Rep. Tom Massie, and said he refused her calls. Trump later told reporters he merely disagreed with her philosophy and noted her backing of Massie preceded her resignation.
