Trump to host Bahrain, Qatar officials at White House

President Trump will meet with Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and they will discuss and sign agreements enhancing U.S.-Bahrain relations. A significant deal worth $17 billion was recently signed between the private sectors of Bahrain and the U.S. The agreements include discussions on a "123 agreement" for U.S. investment in nuclear energy projects in Bahrain. Later, Trump will hold a bill-signing ceremony and have dinner with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman al-Thani.
The U.S. and Bahrain signed the agreement as the Trump administration ramps up efforts to enhance global energy security.
The deal will open up negotiations on what is known as a "123 agreement." It will allow U.S. and American companies to invest in and construct nuclear energy projects in Bahrain.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized, "The United States is prepared to be partner with any nation on Earth that wants to pursue a civil nuclear program that clearly is not geared towards weapons."
The private sectors in Bahrain and the U.S. signed agreements worth about $17 billion.
