Plans call for a Trump-class of battleships that will be larger, faster and claimed to be 100 times more powerful than previous American-built warships. The program would form a Golden Fleet aimed at ensuring US naval dominance. Designs reportedly incorporate advanced systems including artificial intelligence, directed-energy lasers, hypersonic and nuclear cruise missiles, and rail guns. Initial production would start with two ships, possibly scaling to 10 or up to 25 over time, with the first to be named USS Defiant. Renderings displayed at Mar-a-Lago showed the vessels bearing his image.
