During his confirmation hearing, Anthony Tata committed to safeguarding military personnel's private data from DOGE's access. He emphasized the need for contractual agreements to ensure privacy protection. This statement comes amid concerns following revelations about DOGE's prior data handling under Elon Musk. Although Tata's assurance on data privacy was noted, it was overshadowed by his controversial defense history, including inflammatory comments and previous nomination withdrawals due to Islamophobic remarks. Senators raised concerns over his views on political alignment in non-partisan roles.
If I'm confirmed, before DOGE is able to access anything with regard to personnel and personal protected information, there will be some kind of contract that prevents them from doing certain things.
I haven't worked with DOGE. I don't know DOGE, but what I do know is men and women in the military and their families deserve to have their privacy protected.
