Video: D.O.J. Releases More Epstein Files, Says It Did Not Protect Trump
"There's this mantra out there that oh, the Department of Justice is supposed to protect Donald J. Trump, and that's what we were that's not true. We did not protect President Trump. We didn't protect or not protect anybody. The White House let me just be clear: They had nothing to do with this review. They had no oversight over this review. They did not tell this department how to do our review, what to look for, what to redact, what to not redact."
"Although the act allows for withholding for items necessary to keep secret in the interest of national security or foreign policy, no files are being withheld or redacted. on that basis. There's not some tranche of super secret documents about Jeffrey Epstein that we're withholding. I think that there's a hunger or a thirst for information that I do not think will be satisfied by the review of these documents. And there's nothing I can do about that."
The Justice Department released more than three million pages, including over 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, from Jeffrey Epstein files. The department asserted that it did not protect President Donald J. Trump and stated that it did not protect or not protect anyone. The White House had no involvement or oversight in the review and did not direct what to look for or what to redact. No files are being withheld or redacted on national security or foreign policy grounds, and there is no hidden tranche of secret Epstein documents being withheld. Officials cautioned that public appetite for information may not be satisfied by the released records.
