Recent activity at pizza delivery outlets near the Pentagon, particularly Domino's and Papa John's, has shown a correlation with significant military events. Analyzing the hustle of pizza orders, the Pentagon Pizza Report indicates that heightened business at these establishments precedes acts such as wars or military interventions. For instance, a spike in orders closely followed Israel's attack on Iran. This phenomenon has reportedly been noticed since the 1980s, with historical insights linking large pizza orders to crucial moments in global conflicts, making this index both light-hearted and noteworthy.
"The Pentagon Pizza Index has been a surprisingly reliable predictor of seismic global events - from coups to wars - since the 1980s," Alex Selby-Boothroyd wrote.
"On the night of August 1st 1990, for example, the CIA ordered 21 pizzas in a single night just before the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait (a new record)," he added.
