Letting go of ego
Briefly

Effective UX/UI design hinges on serving users meaningfully rather than indulging in personal creativity. Designers often let ego cloud their judgment, leading to resistance against feedback and poor collaboration. A healthy ego fosters confidence and personal pride, but when inflated or fragile, it can distort perception and hinder the design process. This imbalance may result in designers dismissing valuable input and sticking to flawed ideas, ultimately detracting from the user's experience.
Ego can subtly infiltrate the creative process and derail the mission of designing for real people.
Without some degree of ego, we wouldn't be able to advocate for ourselves or take pride in our work.
An overactive ego may overvalue personal opinions and dismiss alternative viewpoints.
Issues arise when ego becomes inflated or fragile, distorting judgment and causing flawed thinking.
