Six years after its release, DSteves celebrated a significant achievement by becoming the first player to clear 1 million levels in Super Mario Maker 2 (SMM2). Completing this milestone took an intense 18-hour streaming marathon, during which he cleared 1,000 levels. An emotional DSteves finished with a custom level designed specifically for this occasion. Throughout his impressive journey, he maintained an average of 456.4 level clears per day, navigating the easy difficulty challenge and avoiding over 80,000 levels, while also experiencing countless in-game deaths. DSteves continues to play SMM2, now surpassing 1,000,050 levels.
After the 999,999th level clear, an emotional DSteves punched in the code for a custom level a player named raysfire created just for this occasion.
DSteves said on the stream it took six years and eight hours to beat 1 million SMM2 levels, and then toasted the achievement with some champagne.
Despite hitting an astounding number of cleared levels, DSteves isn't done with SMM2. The streamer was back to playing the game the following night.
To reach the goal, DSteves cleared an average of 456.4 levels per day. The streamer skipped more than 80,000 levels, died more than 772,000 times.
