Battlefield 6 Is Having A Massive Debut On Steam
"EA's long-awaited and heavily hyped Battlefield 6 is finally out now, and it's off to a hot start on Steam. Within the game's first 30 minutes of public availability, it exceeded 500,000 concurrent users, according to Steam's own data. The free games Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2 are the only two games rank higher than Battlefield 6 currently. At press time, Battlefield 6 stands at more than 606,000 concurrent players on Steam."
"A massive launch for Battlefield 6 was expected. One analyst said the game reached nearly 2 million preorders, generating more than $100 million in revenue prior to launch. In the time it took to write this post, Battlefield 6 added more than 100,000 more players on Steam. GameSpot will continue to update this post as Battlefield 6's player numbers inevitably grow today and this weekend. In the US, it's a long weekend with a holiday on Monday."
Battlefield 6 launched strongly on Steam, exceeding 500,000 concurrent users within its first 30 minutes and surpassing 606,000 concurrent players shortly thereafter. Preorders reportedly approached nearly two million, generating over $100 million in prelaunch revenue. The game is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, though only Steam provides up-to-the-minute concurrent player figures. Servers have generally held up under demand, with players being placed in server queues to mitigate influx. A U.S. holiday weekend contributed to rapid growth expectations. Analysts and experts remain skeptical that Battlefield 6 will outsell Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
