Destiny 2: Legacy Collection will be added to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on June 9, the same day the final Monument to Triumph update launches. The package is normally priced at $70 and includes major content up through 2024’s The Final Shape expansion, excluding early content removed to reduce the game’s size. Included are The Final Shape, Lightfall, The Witch Queen, Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, Forsaken, and the 30th Anniversary Pack, plus dungeons such as Pit of Heresy, Shattered Throne, and Grasp of Avarice. Missing are last year’s Edge of Fate and Renegades, each still sold separately for $40. The collection offers campaign highlights without additional purchase, with The Witch Queen noted as a standout campaign.
"Destiny 2: Legacy Collection is joining PlayStation Plus on June 9, the same day as its final Monument to Triumph update goes live. The sci-fi MMO will come to the Extra and Premium tiers just as Sony has closed the door on any possibility of a late-stage turnaround for Bungie's long-running live-service loot shooter."
"this version of the game is normally $70 and includes essentially everything up through 2024's The Final Shape expansion, minus the early content that vaulted to make room for the growing size of the game several years ago: The Final Shape Standard Edition* Lightfall Standard Edition* The Witch Queen Standard Edition* Beyond Light Pack** Shadowkeep Pack** Forsaken Pack 30th Anniversary Pack Pit of Heresy Dungeon Shattered Throne Dungeon Grasp of Avarice Dungeon"
"What's missing here is last year's Edge of Fate and expansion, both of which are still priced at $40 each. Edge of Fate has some great story beats but terrible missions, while Renegades is Destiny 2's Star Wars-themed crossover that is mostly excellent but more of a fun vacation from the game's normal sci-fi drama than an extension of it."
"While much of Destiny 2 is already free-to-play, this will give Extra and Premium PS Plus subscribers a chance to check out some of the game's peak campaign moments without having to shell out extra money for a ticket on the otherwise notoriously brutal loot grinding treadmill. The Witch Queen is especially good. Played alone or with a group, it's a top-tier first-person shooter campaign elevated by some of Bungie's best art, music, and narrative work of the entire franchise."
