The Coalition released a required day-one patch for Gears of War: Reloaded addressing crashes across PC and consoles and fixing a DualSense-related low frame-rate bug on PC. The patch resolves numerous gameplay, UI, and localization issues and applies minor feature tweaks, including improved handheld device support that enables proper switching to mouse-and-keyboard UI mode and refined settings behavior. The remaster is verified for Steam Deck and will be playable on the ROG Xbox Ally at launch. Gears of War: Reloaded debuts on PS5 for the first PlayStation release and includes overhauled visuals plus all original DLC, arriving on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass.
Before you start chainsawing Locusts, developer The Coalition has released a day-one update for Gears of War: Reloaded to address crashing problems across platforms and add quality-of-life improvements. In addition, the patch notes detail a fix for a weird bug where using a DualSense controller on PC would lead to low frame rates in the game. This is a required patch, per the official Gears of War account on X.
The Coalition states that "support for handheld devices is enhanced, allowing them to properly switch to mouse-and-keyboard UI mode when appropriate." The remaster of the cover-based shooter is verified for Steam Deck, and it will be playable on the ROG Xbox Ally when it launches in October.
For almost 20 years, the Gears of War series has been a console exclusive on Xbox. But Gears of War: Reloaded brings the franchise featuring chainsaw guns and Locust enemies to PlayStation for the first time--PS5, to be specific. Funnily enough, Xbox and PlayStation are trading exclusives today: Gears of War: Reloaded hits PS5, while Helldivers 2 finally arrives on Xbox Series X|S. For his part, Gears of War co-creator Cliff Blezinski is "thrilled" about the series becoming available to more players.
