Stockman said he is attempting to reassemble original team members and wants to return the series to its original tone and roots. Preparing a pitch does not guarantee approval, and game greenlighting and funding remain challenging. The 2022 Saints Row was the final game from Volition before the studio closed in 2023, with Embracer Group calling it a commercial flop and the game receiving mixed reviews.
