"Alinea Analytics discussed the game in their latest newsletter, revealing that Skate has apparently managed to capture 23+ million players in 2025. That's a decent ollie up from October, when EA announced the game had surpassed 15 million players. At the time, Alinea said that those players had generated around $3 million in revenue. What's more, Alinea is also claiming that Skate is still bringing in 750k+ daily active users."
"It's still difficult to say if the game has a future or not. Updates have been rocky thus far, although the Steam reviews have been trending upwards lately, so perhaps things are getting better. As a skateboarding title, it occupies a unique space in the free-to-play market, giving it an edge. Personally, having a title be in early access while also having heaps of microtransactions and season passes irks me, but that's my problem."
Skate launched as an early-access free-to-play live-service reboot and reached more than 23 million players in 2025, up from 15 million in October. Players have generated around $3 million in revenue so far, and the game reportedly retains over 750,000 daily active users. Steam concurrent numbers remain relatively low, around 5–10k peak players. Updates and live-service support have been inconsistent, though Steam reviews have shown improvement. The title occupies a distinctive niche within free-to-play skateboarding games, while monetization through microtransactions and season passes remains a point of contention for some players.
