Bluepoint is an incredibly talented team and their technical expertise has delivered exceptional experiences for the PlayStation community. I want to thank everyone at Bluepoint for their creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality. Where possible, we will work to find opportunities for some impacted employees within our global network of studios."

"increasingly challenging industry environment, rising development costs, slowed industry growth, changing player behavior, and broader economic headwinds"
Sony will close Bluepoint Games next month following a recent business review, and roughly 70 employees will be laid off. Bluepoint's most recent project was the 2020 Demon's Souls remake for PS5. PlayStation cited an increasingly challenging industry environment, rising development costs, slowed industry growth, changing player behavior, and broader economic headwinds as reasons for the closure. PlayStation expressed gratitude for Bluepoint's technical expertise, creativity, and craftsmanship. Sony said it will seek opportunities for some impacted employees within its global network of studios where possible.
